A full apartment cleanout involves removing belongings, furniture and accumulated items from a residential unit. This may be required for estate situations, vacant unit preparation, property management turnover, or properties that have accumulated significant contents over time. This article explains the process and what to expect.
Assessment and Authorization
Before a cleanout begins, the scope of work is established based on an assessment of the property and the authorization provided by the resident, estate representative, property manager or other appropriate party. Entrust The Care does not remove or dispose of items without authorization.
Sorting
Items in the unit are sorted according to the approved scope. This may involve separating items to keep, items to donate, and items to dispose of. Where family members or estate representatives are involved in decisions, this can be coordinated as part of the process.
Removal
Items approved for removal are bagged and removed from the unit. Furniture and large items are removed where included in the scope. The removal process is systematic and thorough.
Disposal
Removed items are disposed of according to applicable requirements and the approved scope of work. This includes furniture, household belongings and accumulated waste.
Cleaning
Following removal, cleaning may be included in the scope of work. This can include floor cleaning, surface cleaning, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, and other areas as required to prepare the unit for its next use.
How Long Does a Cleanout Take?
Duration depends on the size of the unit, the extent of accumulation, disposal requirements and the approved scope. Some cleanouts require multiple days. Entrust The Care can provide an assessment after reviewing the property.
